2nd Annual BCMS PTO Art Contest

April 10, 2021

The BCMS PTO will be hosting our 2nd annual assignment notebook art contest for all current middle schoolers!  

 

Please email your drawings to bcmsptocontest@gmail.com by April 25th.

 

Winners will be announced by May 7th and their artwork will be displayed on the front and back covers of the 2021-2022 school assignment notebook.  

 

Over 1,000 new notebooks will be created and your artwork will be displayed in color!  We will collect the original artwork once the winners are announced.

Mother and Teacher Appreciation Flower Sale 

April 9th, 2021

The BCMS PTO is kicking off spring with a flower fundraiser.

 

Show your love and support for your that special woman in your life as well as all of those special teachers in our community.

Purchase a hanging basket for $27 or a large basket for $32 from the SevenZocks Nursery. Potted plants are just $6. 

You’ll be able to pick out your own color scheme of flowers on site. You can also make a donation to purchase flowers for teachers.

BCMS Picture Day set for May

March 28, 2021

BCMS has teamed up with Cassiday Studios this year for Picture Day.  

 

Picture Day will be done on May 4th, 5th and 8th. You will be notified (via email) the day that your child will be photographed. 

Cassiday Studios will be doing all of the photos outside this year. It will be rescheduled if it rains that day.

We are going paperless and you will not have to pay for anything up front this year. They will take two photos of your child and you'll have the chance to view, order and choose a photo for the yearbook. You'll be notified when the pictures are ready for online viewing.

BCMS PTO Baking Contest: Winners Announced! 

March 29, 2021

 

Congrats to all of the BCMS students that participated in the baking contest celebrating Pi Day. Over 35 students sent in pictures of their pie, cake, cookie or cupcake recipes as well as the finished product

Congrats to Tyler St. Cyr (7th grade, Hudson) for the winning recipe. 2nd place went to Eleanor Rose (7th grade, Patroon). Anika Kalam (8th grade, Mohawk) finished in 3rd. 

The winning entry received a $10 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts while 2nd and 3rd place got a $5 DD gift card. 

All of the participants received a prize!

Former Marvel/DC Comics artist Kevin Conrad joined BCMS for 3rd PTO Meeting

February 12, 2021

The BCMS PTO welcomed Kevin Conrad, a former comic book artist for Marvel and DC Comics, to the 3rd general meeting of the year. Conrad, who has done work on X-Men, X-Force, Spawn and Kiss, showed us some of his comic book creations. He’ll also told us the backstory as to how he got into comics. Conrad, a Sage College graduate, answered questions from the audience.

"Happy Holidays" Door Decoration Photo Contest Winners Announced

December 23, 2020

 

Congrats to everyone that participated in our "Happy Holidays - Door Decoration" photo contest. We had lots of entries as students emailed in a photo of their decorated front door, bedroom door or even garage door. The photos were creative, appealing and outstanding; thanks again for your support and participation

 

Congrats to 1st place winner Ame-Jane Tootel (8th grade/Patroon). 2nd place went to Avery Bush (7th grade/Hudson). And 3rd place was Gabriella Merwin (7th grade/Patroon). The winning entry received a Stewart's "Make Your Own Sundae" Gift card. While 2nd - 5th place got a gift card for a single scoop ice cream at Stewart's.

Stress Management Zoom for Adults

December 11, 2020

 

The BCMS PTO offered a free two-part Zoom session with Dr. Stephanie M. Hutchins for adults. As the owner of Serotinous Life, Stephanie is passionate about teaching individuals how to cope with stress and how to find beauty in darkness.

 

She is a Certified Life Coach, Certified Stress Management Coach, Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, and Certified Yoga Instructor. For more information visit her website.

Thanksgiving Photo Contest Winners Announced

Congrats to everyone that participated in our Photo Contest: "What you are Thankful For"? We had lots of entries as students emailed in a photo of what they're thankful for. The photos are lovely and impressive. 

 

Congrats to Maayan Amsterdamer (6th grader - Mohawk) for the winning picture. 2nd place went to Sanzia Matthews (8th grader - Mohawk). 3rd place was a tie between Kimberly Davenport (8th grade, Patroon) and David Davenport (6th grade, Patroon). BCMS PTO Meeting with MopCo 
November 19, 2020

The Capital Region's very own MopCo entertained us all during the 2nd BCMS meeting of the 2020-21 school year on 11/19/20. MopCo has been voted the Capital Region's "Best in Comedy" for 4 years in a row. They did a presentation titled "A sense of humor and a little creativity can help us through the tough times.” MopCo focused on some of the improv principles that are helpful offstage -- focus on making our partner look good, assuming good intent, building with what we have in the moment and positivity.
